Our Initiatives

What We Do

Small seed. Big faith. Greater purpose.

From prayer and empowerment to scholarships and emergency pantry care, every initiative plants a seed of hope for families in Doerun and beyond.

Initiative 01

Community Prayer

Faith of A Mustard Seed Outreach brings residents, churches, community leaders, families, and organizations together for a meaningful time of prayer and unity. This gathering creates a welcoming space where people can pray for families, schools, businesses, public servants, local churches, and the overall well-being of the community.

Our goal is to strengthen faith, encourage hope, promote healing, and remind every person that they are not alone. Through prayer, we believe hearts can be restored, relationships can be strengthened, and communities can move forward together.

Initiative 02

Community Empowerment

Our Community Empowerment events are designed to inspire, educate, and connect individuals and families with valuable information, encouragement, and resources. These events may include motivational speakers, community leaders, educational workshops, health and wellness information, financial guidance, employment resources, and personal development opportunities.

The purpose of this initiative is to help people recognize their value, build confidence, overcome challenges, and take positive steps toward a stronger future. We believe that when individuals are empowered, families become stronger and communities thrive.

Initiative 03

Annual Back-2-School Community Day

The Annual Back-2-School Community Day helps students and families begin the school year prepared, encouraged, and supported. Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, students may receive school supplies, backpacks, clothing, personal-care items, educational resources, and other needed assistance.

This event also provides families with an opportunity to connect with local organizations and community resources. Our goal is to remove barriers, celebrate students, and remind every young person that their education, dreams, and future matter.

Initiative 04

Annual Community Prayer Walk

The Annual Community Prayer Walk is a public expression of faith, unity, and love for the community. Participants walk together while praying for neighborhoods, families, schools, churches, businesses, community leaders, public safety, healing, and restoration.

This event encourages people from different backgrounds and congregations to come together with one purpose: to cover the community in prayer. The Prayer Walk serves as a reminder that positive change begins when people unite in faith, compassion, and service.

Initiative 05

Annual Cheerful Giver Christmas Giveaway

The Annual Cheerful Giver Christmas Giveaway brings joy, hope, and practical assistance to children, individuals, and families during the holiday season. The outreach may provide toys, gifts, food, clothing, household necessities, and other items to families experiencing financial hardship.

More than a giveaway, this event is an opportunity to share the love of God and remind families that they are valued and remembered. Through generous donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and community partners, we work to make the Christmas season brighter for those in need.

Initiative 06

Faith of A Mustard Seed Scholarship Fund

The Faith of A Mustard Seed Scholarship Fund invests in students who are working toward a brighter future. The fund is designed to support eligible students pursuing college, technical education, career certification, workforce training, or other educational opportunities.

Each scholarship award is $500 and may help with tuition, books, supplies, fees, technology, transportation, or other education-related expenses. Our goal is to encourage students to remain committed to their dreams, develop their gifts, and become positive leaders in their communities.

We believe that a small seed of support can help produce a lifetime of opportunity.
